Seating Information
Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, CA is a historic outdoor amphitheater used mainly for concerts. It is not a regular sports venue, and it does not operate like a traditional indoor theater. The venue capacity is about 4,500 with reserved floor seating and about 5,000 with a general-admission standing-room floor.
The seating layout can vary by concert. Some shows use a reserved floor setup with floor sections T, U, and V. Other shows use a general-admission floor, which is standing room only and first-come, first-served. The reserved bowl includes sections J, K, L, M, N, and O, then sections D, E, F, G, H, and I, with upper sections A, B, and C.
- Best overall concert sections: centered reserved bowl sections with a straight view of the stage.
- Best close-up experience: reserved floor sections or general-admission floor, depending on the show layout.
- Best balance of view and comfort: middle reserved sections, where we can see the stage clearly without being too far back.
- Best value: upper bowl sections can still provide a good amphitheater view, but they are farther from the stage.
- Sections to check carefully: far-side seats and upper corners, because the viewing angle may be less direct depending on the production.
- Sports seating: no regular sports seating layout is confirmed because Santa Barbara Bowl is primarily a concert amphitheater.
Important infrastructure to know: the Bowl is built into a hillside in a residential neighborhood. We should expect outdoor conditions, stairs, slopes, scenic views, and a longer walk from parking than at a typical arena. Arriving early is important because moving from parking to seats can take time.
Parking Information
Parking at Santa Barbara Bowl is limited and event-focused. The venue’s official parking areas are at Santa Barbara High School, entered from Anapamu Street, and The Armory, entered from Nopal Street. Current venue information lists parking at $30 per car.
The Bowl recommends arriving early because it can take over 30 minutes to get from the car to the seat. The venue is in a residential neighborhood, so we should be respectful, use legal parking only, avoid blocking driveways, keep noise low, and avoid littering. Tailgating, alcohol, picnicking, amplified music, and loitering are not allowed in the parking lots. Lots close 30 minutes after the concert ends.
- Santa Barbara High School Event Parking: 700 E Anapamu St, Santa Barbara, CA 93103. Enter on Anapamu Street. Estimated price: $30 per car. This is one of the main official parking options and is close to the venue.

- Accessible Parking: reserved accessible parking may be available by contacting the Bowl Box Office at (805) 962-7411. We should arrange this in advance because space can be limited.
- Bike Valet: complimentary secure bike valet is available near the venue and can be one of the easiest ways to avoid traffic and parking delays.
- Third-party parking: private reserved parking may appear through third-party services, but we should compare price, walking distance, and seller terms before booking.
Rideshare and drop-off: all rideshare, taxi, friend, and family drop-offs should use the corner of Milpas and Anapamu. Drivers should approach northbound on Milpas, heading away from the ocean, to unload in the designated drop-off area.
Parking to avoid: we should avoid illegal residential street parking, private lots without clear authorization, driveways, red curbs, and any area that requires blocking neighborhood traffic.
